Prince Harry and his fund-raising colleagues have arrived at the South Pole. After more than three weeks pulling sleds across the frozen wastes of Antarctica, the group stood at the bottom of the world at 13.25GMT today. The expedition is raising money for Walking With The Wounded, a charity which funds both the re-training and re-education of wounded servicemen and women with the aim of helping them find long term employment after they have left the Armed Forces. The prince and the team prepared for the walk in Leicestershire, chilling out in temperatures as low as minus 35C - captured here in our set of flashback pictures, which we are running today to celebrate the team's success. Prince Harry was at the the Mira research facility, near Hinckley, for a 24-hour exercise with his Walking with the Wounded's teammates. The team was given access to Mira's climatic wind tunnel which simulates Antarctic weather conditions in preparation for its Allied South Pole Challenge in November. The tunnel is used by Mira customers to test their products under a wide range of simulated conditions including snow, wind, solar radiation, temperature and humidity. The Walking with the Wounded's South Pole Allied Challenge was launched in April 2013, and is one of a number of expeditions organised by the charity to raise awareness of wounded service personnel and their stories.
