Roadworks are taking place in the following Leicester locations next week:
New work starting:
* Pocklington's Walk: carriageway resurfacing. Road closed at junction of Berridge Street and Millstone Lane on Sunday (23rd) only. Diversions in place. Please note that bus services from Aylestone Road, Saffron Lane and Welford Road will not drop off on Pocklington's Walk, Horsefair Street or Charles Street on Sunday. Passengers should alight on Oxford Street (before Bonners Lane) - otherwise services 48, 48A, 84, 84A, 85, 86, 87, 88, 88A and X6 will divert via Southgates underpass to their terminal stop (St Margaret's Bus Station or Charles Street).
* Knighton Road: carriageway resurfacing. Road closed at Chapel Lane junction from 09.30 to 16.00 from Monday (24th) until Wednesday (26th).
* The Common: tree works. Temporary signals and lane restrictions in place on Monday (24th) and Tuesday (25th) only.
* St Augustine Road: water main work. Lane restrictions as required on Sunday (23rd) only.
* London Road: water main work. Lane restrictions as required near to Evington Road on Sunday (23rd) only.
* Ridley Street: crane in carriageway. Road closed during off-peak hours only between Hinckley Road and Shaftesbury Road from Monday (24th) to Wednesday (26th). Diversions in place.
* Atkins Street: carriageway resurfacing. Road closed between Henshaw Street and Jarrom Street on Monday (24th) only. Diversions in place.
On-going works in the city:
* Bonners Lane: bus lane improvements. Temporary signals and lane closures at junction with Oxford Street.
* Berridge Street: improvements as part of Connecting Leicester. Road closed. Diversions in place.
* Lutterworth Road: new bus lane. Lane restrictions and temporary signals in place, moving along from Glen Parva.
* Carlton Street: new bus lane. 24-hour lane restrictions in place between Welford Road and Oxford Street.
* Melton Road: new development. Lane restrictions in place near to Troon Way junction.
* Pluto Close: new development. Road closed.
* Rutland Street: building works. Lane restrictions as required at junction with Charles Street.
* Western Road: building works. Road closed between Saxon Street and Roman Street. Diversions along Celt Street, Narborough Road, Gaul Street and Wilberforce Road.
* Wimbledon Street: construction work. Road closed at junction with Humberstone Road. One-way order reversed, access from Southampton Street.
* Applegate: Resurfacing works to be carried out before the road is reopened to traffic.
Emergency situations might require work schedules to be changed at short notice.
