A man has suffered "life-changing" injuries in a serious collision in Leicester this morning.
The accident involving two cars happened shortly before 4.30am at the Wakerley Road and Evington Lane junction.
Firefighters had to cut a man free from one of the vehicles and he was taken to hospital.
A police spokesman said the man had suffered "life-changing" injuries.
A 26-year-old has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The road was still closed at 10am today as police carried out investigation work.
