A man is being treated in hospital for facial injuries following an assault in Leicester.
The incident happened in Mossgate, off Aikman Avenue, on Leicester's New Parks estate, last night.
The area was cordoned off by police while an investigation was carried out.
A force spokeswoman said: "Police are investigating an assault in Mossgate between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Thursday.
"The victim, who is in his 40s, was assaulted and is currently in hospital receiving treatment for injuries to his face.
"A 20-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident is currently in police custody."
