A crash involving a car transporter has closed the A47 Hinckley Road in both directions in Leicester Forest East.
The collision occurred near the Kirby Lane junction shortly after 4.20pm.
Traffic is being diverted down Ratby Lane.
A spokesman for Area Traffic Control said: "The road is still blocked in both directions. We do not have further details as yet."
