A person had to be cut from their car after it was involved in a collision with a lamppost near the Asda superstore in Thurmaston this evening.
Fire fighters had to cut the roof off the vehicle after it left the road and mounted the grass verge shortly before 5.30pm.
The casualty was taken to hospital. No other vehicle was involved and no-one else was injury.
County bound traffic was delayed while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
