Detectives investigating an assault in Hinckley town centre which left a man with a double skull fracture have interviewed a suspect.
The man visited a police station following an appeal, which included a CCTV image, in the Leicester Mercury.
The assault is alleged to have taken place in Regent Street shortly after midnight on Sunday, February 17.
The 35-year-old victim told the Mercury last month: "All I can remember is waking up in hospital and I didn't have a clue why I was there.
"I don't know exactly what the attacker did to me, but I have two skull fractures to show for it."
Leicestershire Police said a 33-year-old man contacted detectives and took part in a voluntary interview.
A file on the case is now being considered by the Crown Prosecution Service, which will decide whether there is evidence for a criminal charge.
