A man is due to appear in court today after being charged with causing death by dangerous driving in connection with a crash which shut the M25 in both directions a month ago.

Adam Olkusz (25), of no fixed address, will appear before magistrates in Chelmsford. He was charged with the offence yesterday.

The collision happened between junctions 26 (Waltham Abbey) and 27 (M11) at around 1.50am on Tuesday, December 9.

It involved a Peugeot car and four lorries, and resulted in one of the lorries crashing through the central reservation barrier into the path of oncoming traffic on the opposite carriageway.

Bhagwant Singh, 39, from Leicester, died and four other people needed hospital treatment for injuries.

A 33-year-old man from Leicester who was also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving remains on police bail pending further enquiries until April 8.
