Lutterworth Road closed today after lorry and a motorcycle crash

A main road into Leicester city centre was closed in both directions for several hours today after a collision between a lorry and a motorcycle. The crash happened shortly after 11am in Lutterworth Road, at its junction with Monsell Drive, Aylestone. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary with serious injuries, although police said the injuries are not life threatening. Both carriageways were closed initially although one was later re-opened with the road fully open in both directions by late afternoon.
