A man had to be cut free from an overturned vehicle following an accident on the A46 near the Hobby Horse Island, Syston, this morning.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash which happened at about 11.30am.
The male casualty was released by firefighters and dealt with by the ambulance service.
It is not known how serious his injuries are.
The road was closed from the Hobby Horse Island towards Seagrave, leading to lengthy queues on the A46 from Leicester.
Police were diverting traffic via Syston.
