Marc Albrighton says joining Leicester City presents him with a fresh start in his career.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract with City after leaving Aston Villa.
Although he admits he was disappointed Villa told him he was surplus to requirements after 16 years with the club, he feels he needed a new challenge.
"It was a bit of a shock when Villa told me they didn't want my services anymore," said the winger.
"I wasn't expecting a massive bumper deal from Villa but, if I am honest, I was expecting something.
"I would have had to assess it anyway. I think the time had come for me to face a new challenge anyway.
"Sixteen years at a club is a long time and it is something to look forward to now.
"It is a new start, a fresh start for me and my family. I can't wait to get started."
