A farmer today denied manslaughter by gross negligence after a man was killed by a bull three years ago. Paul Waterfall, 39, of Underhill Farm, near Stanford-on-Soar, in Nottinghamshire, faces the charge following the death of Roger Freeman, of Glen Parva, on November 12, 2010. Retired roofing contractor, Mr Freeman, 63, and his wife Glenis, 70, were walking on a public footpath that took them through a field at Underhill Farm, when the bull attacked them. Mr Freeman died from multiple injuries at the scene. Mrs Freeman also suffered serious injuries and spent three weeks in hospital in Nottingham. The bull was later destroyed. Waterfall, who is on bail, entered his plea at a hearing at Nottinghasm Crown Court. A trial date was set for April 7 next year.
