An elderly pedestrian who was seriously injured in a road collision in Glenfield remains in a critical condition.
Police were called to the A50 Groby Road, outside the Glenfield Hospital, close to the roundabout with the A563 New Parks Way, at 6.15pm on Tuesday.
An 83-year-old woman was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary with serious injuries and later transferred to Walsgrave Hospital, in Coventry. Police today said she remained in a critical condition.
Detective Constable Nick Bryan, who is investigating the incident, said: "The pedestrian was crossing the A50 from the Glenfield Hospital side and the driver of the grey Porsche Carrera was travelling along the A50 towards the county when the collision occurred."
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
DC Bryan added: "We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw either the pedestrian or the car beforehand."
