Vaughan Way was closed for an hour today while emergency services talked down a man from the upper level of a multi-storey car park.
Police were called at 10.52am following concern for the welfare of a man who was seen on an upper level of the car park in Vaughan Way, Leicester.
A police spokesperson said: "Police and the ambulance service attended the scene.
"Vaughan Way and the surrounding area were cordoned off to allow officers to deal with the incident.
Trained negotiators spoke to the man and he was brought to safety."
During the incident traffic was diverted along Highcross Street. The roads were reopened at 11.51am.
She added: "Police would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation."
