Firefighters used an inflatable raft to rescue a dog stranded on a duck pond island yesterday.
A technical rescue crew from Southern station handed the Jack Russell terrier back to its owner after it had got stuck on the island at Abbey Park.
The owner called the police after the dog had bneen standed on the island for two hours after going into the water.
The police called the fire service at 11.45am and three crews attended the scene.
The dog was given back to its grateful owner at 12.17pm.
