Officers today arrested a man in Leicester on suspicion of a number of sexual assaults.
The arrest was made by members of the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA)in connection with alleged offences committed in North Wales care homes.
The assaults, on three boys, are alleged to have taken place between 1969 and 1984 when they were aged between 12 and 14 years old.
The 62-year-old man will be taken to a police station in Leicestershire, where he will be interviewed.
This is the second arrest conducted by Operation Pallial.
Operation Pallial is an investigation led by Keith Bristow, Director General of the National Crime Agency, into recent allegations of historical abuse in the care system in North Wales.
