Thousands of rock fans have been treated to top acts this weekend's at Download - the UK's biggest rock festival. Festival headliners Slipknot (Friday) and Iron maiden (Saturday) have more than lived up to their fans' expectations. Last night saw Iron Maiden marking the 25th anniversary of their first headline appearance at Donington Park and the set began with a flyby from a Spitfire based at RAF Coningsby. They treated fans to tracks including Run To The Hills, The Number of the Beast finishing with an encore of Aces High, The Evil That Men Do and Running Free. Singer Bruce Dickinson spoke to the Mercury before the anniversary performance promising fans it would be "absolutely special".
