A 16-year-old youth has been arrested in connection with a suspected stabbing in a city park.
The teenager was apprehended by officers investigating an attack on a man in Belgrave's Cossington Park, in Leicester.
The victim, a 32-year-old man, is currently receiving treatment in hospital for "puncture wounds".
His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
The attack happened at the Surrey Street entrance to the park at about 11pm last Thursday.
Police believe the victim had been involved in an earlier altercation with a group of youths near to the children's play area.
A short time later, he encountered the same group and was chased before being assaulted.
A police spokesman said: "A 16-year-old youth has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries."
