A 22-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital yesterday when she was thrown from a horse while jumping a fence near Oakham.
The woman was briefly knocked unconscious following the fall.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance was called out just after 4pm and landed in a nearby field.
Air ambulance paramedics administered pain relief and anti-sickness medication to the woman before she was flown to Queen's Medical centre, in Nottingham, for further treatment.
The DLRAA attended around 90 horse riding incidents last year - a third of them in Leicestershire and Rutland.
