Firefighters were called to a blaze at a restaurant in Loughborough this morning.
Crews were called at about 4.15am to the fire in the ground-floor kitchen of the two-storey building in Ward's End.
Police and ambulance crews were also called.
A fire service spokesman said two people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
During the incident firefighters had to force entry into an adjacent property and isolate the gas supply after a pipe had ruptured.
The fire was under control by 5.20am.
