A 59-year-old man has died following a crash in Loughborough.
Robert William Allen, who lived in the town, was involved in a crash in Forest Road at about 8.15pm on Monday.
The car he was driving, a maroon Volkswagen Golf, was the only vehicle involved in the collision.
Police said he was pronounced dead in hospital. A passenger in the car was uninjured.
Detective Constable Seamus Burns, who is investigating the incident, said: "The car was travelling towards Nanpantan when it came into collision with a lamppost.
"We hope that anyone who witnessed the collision, or the car prior to it, will get in touch and help us with our inquiries. Any information could help us so please get in touch."
