CCTV appeal after two robberies at Santander banks in Leicester

Police have released CCTV images after two armed robberies at Santander banks in Leicester. The first robbery took place just after 4.30pm on Wednesday, October 3 at the branch in Woodgate. A man entered the premises threatened a member of staff with what was believed to be a firearm and demanded money. The suspect left with a bag containing cash. No-one was hurt during the incident. The second raid took place shortly before noon on Saturday (October 13) at the bank in Narborough Road. Two men entered the bank and threatened the cashier with what was believed to be a handgun and then made off on foot with a quantity of cash. Detective Constable Michelle Bigg she said: "We have been studying CCTV footage from both incidents and are now able to release images of people we need to identify and trace in connection with the incidents. "This was obviously a very distressing incident for the staff and customers in the premises at the time. "If you recognise the people in the images or you saw similar described men in the areas of the incidents we would urge you to contact the police. "If you believe you may know who is responsible for the incidents or you've heard rumours locally we would ask that you contact the police immediately."
