Leicester City team news for FA Cup clash against Aston Villa

Leicester City must block out events at Aston Villa and focus on reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, manager Nigel Pearson has said.

If City thought they had experienced a dramatic week, the last few days at Villa has probably over shadowed it, with fan protests at the defeat at Hull being followed by the sacking of Paul Lambert on Wednesday.

Speculation surrounds the club over who will be given the task of arresting their slide into the relegation places, but with an unpopular manager gone, the atmosphere could be rejuvenated among the home fans for Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round clash at Villa Park.

However, Pearson said his players must ignore everything that is going on around the game and focus on events on the pitch.

"We have to concentrate on our own performances at the moment," said Pearson.

"It was important for the players to approach it with a very positive manner. We have to block out all that is going on with the opponents.

"It is about us focusing fully on our own performance and making sure we get that right."

Although Pearson confesses he has total respect for the FA Cup, he stressed that Premier League survival is the priority for City this season.

"The financial aspects of the Premier League are huge but the benefits of winning cup games from a morale point of view are very big as well," he said.

"I am very conscious of the benefits from a financial view.

"Premier League retention is top of the list but, in the meantime, I have a lot of respect for all cup competitions.

"The cup competitions will give you chance to win games. But the players don't lack confidence.

"We've continued to play with positive intent and that's always important."

City will have to make one enforced change as Robert Huth is cup-tied having appeared for parent club Stoke in the third round against Wrexham.

Matt Upson has returned to training after going off as a precaution at Arsenal in midweek following his return from long-term injury, but he is a major doubt as well, so Marcin Wasilewski is expected to come back into the side.

Chris Wood has returned to training after an ankle injury but Pearson said he needs another week of training before he could be considered.

"Matty Upson trained today, but we will monitor him," said Pearson.

"He will need managing in terms of the loading because he has been out for such a long time, but you could see in his performances his game-understanding is very good and I thought he had a very good game at Arsenal.

"Chris has started training with us and we will see how he progresses but he needs at least a full week before he can be considered.
"We don't really have further problems."

The perfect Friday 13 wedding with a special prehistoric guest

Friday 13th held no fears for lovebirds Kerry and Emily who shook off superstition and took the plunge at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery.

The unluckiest day of the year did not spook Kerry Jackson, 30, and Emily Davison, 29, from Aylestone, who got married in front of 60 friends and family yesterday.

Among the guests was an unlikely well-wisher, a 17ft tall fossilised dinosaur, nicknamed George - one of the museum's star attractions.

The happy couple tied the knot in the Victorian Gallery at the city centre attraction, which has recently been made available for matrimonial services, before heading over to St Martin's House for the wedding breakfast and reception.

Kerry and Emily had their wedding photos taken with George the dinosaur in the background

Nurse Kerry said: "We're both from Leicester and we chose New Walk because it's a bit of a nostalgia thing from both of our childhoods.

"It's quirky and different - and where else can you have your wedding photos with a dinosaur."

The pair have known each other since they were at Fosse Primary School together, but only got together after reconnecting on Facebook just over a year ago.

"I proposed in August," said Kerry. "And we had planned to get married in two years time, but I was joking about and said let's move it forward. So we did.

"We started looking at dates and thought near Valentine's Day would be perfect.

"Then we saw Friday 13, and thought we might get a decent deal because no one's going to want to get married then, but it didn't bother us.

"We thought, 'we don't care' - it's just superstition, and anyway, we can overcome anything."

The New Walk Museum's Victorian Gallery

New Walk Museum is one of a number of historic, alternative and quirky venues in the city open to couple for wedding services and receptions.

Other buildings include the National Space Centre, the 14th century Guildhall, Belgrave Hall and the ornate Beam Engine House at Leicester's Abbey Pumping Station.

Minaxi Patel, operations officer at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, said: "It was lovely, Kerry and Emily both looked so beautiful and they got some amazing pictures.

"Where else can you get your photo taken with a dinosaur."

More information about the venues is available in an online wedding guide on the Leicester City Council website.

'Living nightmare': Leicester student has eyebrows permanently tattooed on face

A Leicester student has appeared on a national TV programme to tell how she has been living a nightmare since having black eyebrows permanently tattooed on to her face.

Sarah, 24, appeared on Channel 4 series Bodyshockers on Wednesday to talk about how unhappy she was after making the decision to get the inking.

As well as being inspired by the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge, Sarah originally got the eyebrows tattooed because she thought it would save her time, as she did not want to pluck her eyebrows all the time.

But, Sarah, who is naturally blonde, says it went horribly wrong.

Speaking on the programme, she said: "'It was supposed to be a quick fix so I didn't have to do all this plucking, shaving and painting them on.

'But now before I leave the house I have to spend ages doing hair to make sure they can't be seen.

"I told the tattooist I wanted black eyebrows but I didn't think they would be this black."

Now, Sarah is forced to have a long, thick, black fringe to cover her eyebrows and often wears a hat.

Plus, she has to shave or pluck off any extra eyebrow hairs because her tattoos are now fading and turning blue.

"And having the tattoos was excruciating, I was screaming," she added.

"I don't know what I was thinking as I'm naturally blonde.

Sarah said: 'I don't tend to go out much now as I have it in my head that people are looking at me - that feeling is the most upsetting.

"I want them gone."

Later in the programme, Sarah can be seen having painful laser treatment to remove the tattoos.

"It really hurt and my eyebrows are throbbing," said Sarah, who had to endure several sessions before her eyebrows were removed completely.

The Channel 4 programme, presented by acid-attack survivor Katie Piper, highlights cosmetic disasters people have had, and Sarah's story is just one of many.

Aston Villa v Leicester City preview: FA Cup glory beckons but it's all about survival

Whichever team emerges victorious at Villa Park on Sunday will be one victory away from Wembley.

But there is much more at stake for Leicester City and Aston Villa.

While it has been a long time since either side has made a Wembley appearance, and such an event would be a welcome tonic after difficult seasons for both, Premier League survival has become the only consideration.

City are rock-bottom of the table after picking up just four wins in the league all season, but their position in the table does not tell the whole story.

As their performance at Arsenal on Tuesday night demonstrated yet again, there has been no shortage of effort or commitment from Nigel Pearson's men, and they have had no problem creating chances. Taking them has been the issue, while they have also been conceding costly, soft goals.

Generally speaking, there seems to be a sense of hope still within the City camp and fans.

That is in stark contrast to Villa, who slipped into the relegation places on Tuesday after a lamentable run.

Villa have set a new Premier League record for the least amount of goals scored after 25 games of a season – a miserly 12.

The defeat at Hull was their 10th without a win and their 15th league game of the season without scoring.

At one point, the supporters had to wait through 659 minutes of action to see their team score a goal.

While the City faithful have, by and large, stood by Pearson and his players because they can see some light at the end of the tunnel, the Villa fans have been calling for the head of Paul Lambert for some time, and they are pretty fed up with owner Randy Lerner, too.

A few weeks ago when Villa visited the King Power Stadium, the atmosphere in the away end turned nasty as City claimed the victory and the visiting supporters were chanting 'We want our club back'.

Lambert also had a strained relationship with the local media and the Birmingham Mail made the bold move this week to call for his sacking. They got their wish.

While City decided last Sunday to stick with Pearson, three days later Lambert was removed from his position.

With so much going on at both clubs, the FA Cup may not be high on their list of priorities, and could even be seen as an unwelcome distraction.

The financial rewards of the Premier League are huge and the new TV deal has placed even greater pressure on clubs to survive. It is arguably even more vital to Villa than City. But victory on Sunday could give one of the sides a major boost and even kick-start a survival push.

Experience will be key for Leicester City for rest of season, says manager Nigel Pearson

Experience will be the key for Leicester City for the remainder of the season, manager Nigel Pearson believes.

City fielded a side packed with experience at Arsenal on Tuesday night as Robert Huth and Matt Upson came into the side.

It was a defensive line-up which included Paul Konchesky and Danny Simpson, two full-backs who have also played plenty of football at Premier League level. Behind them was veteran goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and anchoring the midfield was Esteban Cambiasso, the most decorated player domestically in Argentinian history.

Pearson said the experience that Huth, who is cup-tied this Sunday, and Upson could bring during the closing few months of the season could prove crucial.

"To go into the latter parts of the season with experienced players, when the pressures are big, it is going to be important for us," he said. "It is good to have those options.

"I have to stress that the rules remain the same. Players have to earn the right to be in the team.

"Then, of course, it is up to them to stay in the side when they have achieved that place.

"I can't give any players guarantees when it comes to starting positions.

"I suppose that has been one of the bigger changes this season. Because we haven't been winning games, there is going to be the possibility of more changes."

City are expected to make more changes to the starting line-up for tomorrow's trip to Villa Park, and Pearson admits his side has not been as settled as during their title success last season.

But he does not believe that has been disruptive.

"I think of late our formation has been pretty similar," he said.

"Until the Africa Cup of Nations you would probably have been able to predict certain positions more readily for us, but we have had players out with injuries.

"We have options in midfield and I think for the most part our defence has been a little bit more settled.

"There have been changes but we have players who know their roles when they come back into the side and players who are very supportive of each other.

"That is always going to be important."

Aston Villa players will 'not be out to impress any new potential manager' against Leicester City

The Aston Villa players will not be out to impress any new potential manager on Sunday, caretaker manager Scott Marshall has said.

Marshall, who takes charge of Villa with namesake Andy Marshall for Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Leicester City at Villa Park, said the players were professional enough to be totally focused on reaching the quarter-finals at City's expense.

"I don't think the players have a point to prove," he said.

"They want to go out and win the game because they are good professionals and there is a quarter-final place at stake."

Speculation is rife over who will succeed Lambert in the Villa Park hotseat with Tim Sherwood the favourite, and Marshall believes whoever does come in must have a proven track record.

"This is not a job for someone to cut their teeth on," he said. "This is all new to me, but I'm happy to do it while things are being sorted. It's a big job."

This will be the third time City have faced Villa this season and both games have been surrounded by supporter unrest among Villa fans, but Lambert, who was the subject of heavy criticism from the stands, thanked those supporters.

"I pay tribute to the supporters who are among the most passionate I have ever encountered," he said.

"They rightly hold huge expectations for their beloved football club and I sincerely hope they are rewarded with the success they deserve.

"I completely understand their frustrations and always shared their view that the football club is too big not to be competing at the top end of the table. I hope that can happen."

Both clubs were fined by the FA after the ugly scenes at the end of the clash between the two clubs at the King Power Stadium, when both Matty James and Ciaran Clark were sent off.

City were fined £20,000 while Villa were docked £60,000 as it was the second time this season they had been in hot water for player behaviour.

Two fire crews were called to the city's Eyres Monsell estate this afternoon after a fire involving two propane gas cylinders.

The two small cylinders, in an outhouse of a property, in Brentinghouse Road, were cooled down while crews tackled the blaze.

A male at the scene, who suffered slight smoke inhalation, was given oxygen by firefighters, but declined to go to hospital in an ambulance sent to the scene.

The incident, reported shortly before 2pm, was dealt with by crews from Wigston and Leicester's southern fire stations, wearing breathing equipment.

A Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire was caused by an electrical fault in a tumble drier in the outhouse which was destroyed in the blaze.

Number of health visitors to double

The number of health visitors across Leicestershire has doubled.

Thanks to increased Government investment the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust has recruited more than 100 new health visitors - giving a total of 230 by the end of March.

Health managers said it means there will be more support for families and young children across Leicestershire and Rutland.

A new scheme in which a health visitor checks on expectant mums before their baby is born is being tested across the city and county.

The idea is to be able to give extra support where needed when the baby arrives.

Checks which take place soon after boys and girls turn two have also been reviewed.

In addition an extra check at three-and-a-half is being trialed.

However, the changes could see a reduction in the number of community nursery nurse posts, infant feeding co-ordinators and management posts within the health visiting service.

A trust spokesman said: "This will not result in the reduction of the number or quality of contacts our parents receive from the health visiting service, or in the support we provide to community groups."

Helen Thompson, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust's divisional director for families, young people and children's services said: "The increased number of health visitors is enabling us to transform the way we deliver support to children and families.

"More health visitors are now providing timely development reviews, identifying and supporting those who need additional help to make sure that all local children get the best possible start in life. "

She added: "For example, the new antenatal check means that health visitors can now support mums before their baby is born and identify where additional support is required.

"Infant feeding support is a key part of these early visits."

Ms Thompson said that the check when a child reached three-and-a-half was aimed at helping to prepare them for school."

As well as beefing up the health visiting a range of groups to help support parents.

These will cover issues such as sleep, nutrition, behaviour as well as speech and language development.

Axing cancer drug will be 'death sentence' for men

A decision by NHS England to withdraw a life-extending prostate cancer treatment has been described as a death sentence for men.

The drug, cabazitaxel, is one of 16 due to be withdrawn from the Cancer Drugs Fund next month.

More than 2,500 people have signed a petition in protest and charities, including the Leicestershire-based Prostaid are lobbying for change.

Hugh Gunn, from Countesthorpe, who has advanced prostate cancer, said: "Cabazitaxel is the last drug which will keep men alive after they have had abiraterone and enzalutamide

"Men who have had these two drugs will no longer be able to have cabazitaxel.

"The problem is that different drugs suit different people and it may be some men have had to try both abiraterone and enzalutamide and now it will be the end of line in treatment.

"Withdrawing it does amount to a death sentence for men with advanced prostate cancer.

"The drug is not a cure, it is a delaying tactic, but if it can extend your life it is worth doing.

"Time is precious for men with prostate cancer."

Mr Gunn was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2005.

He has not yet had the drug but it is one that he might need in the future.

Mr Gunn said: "If it is withdrawn it effectively takes away my last option.

"It is like putting a bullet to your head and killing you.

"The attitude seems to be it is not worth paying for something to give people who are not going to be cured.

"Where is the humanity?"

Professor Peter Clark, an oncologist and chairman of the Cancer Drugs Fund, said: "We have been through a robust, evidence-based process to ensure the drugs available offer the best clinical benefit, getting the most for patients from every pound.

"There were drugs that did not offer sufficient clinical benefit so we simply cannot go on funding those.

"These are difficult decisions, but if we don't prioritise the drugs that offer the best value, many people could miss out on promising, more effective treatments that are in the pipeline."

Dentist cleared of misconduct after sending discriminatory text messages

A dentist who sent a string of text messages threatening to 'out' a colleague as gay to his family after a workplace row has escaped being struck off.

Dr Muhammad Raza had developed close working friendship with the man, a fellow senior practitioner, but the relationship soured in November 2011, a General Dental Council panel heard.

In the aftermath of the fall-out, Dr Raza, of Leicester, sent a series of foul-mouthed text messages to his colleague, a secretly gay Muslim.

Panel chairman Brent Weller said members considered the messages to be threatening and "could not be anything other than homophobic".

He told Dr Raza: "We note that on more than one occasion in the course of your evidence you conceded you had counter-threatened Dr A in response to threats you perceived he was making towards you."

Tom Kirk-Smythe, for the General Dental Council, said the row between the two began when Dr Raza tried to hand a case over to his colleague as his shift was finishing.

The exchange of text messages then took place.

Mr Kirk-Smythe said: "It is the General Dental Council's case that these are abusive, degrading and threatening messages and involve family members.

"We say the texts were designed to threaten his colleague's family life and were, objectively speaking, homophobic, insulting and threatening.

"They were also unprofessional, inappropriate and discriminatory."

He argued that by sending the messages, Dr Raza failed as a dentist to co-operate with his team in the interests of patients, treat colleagues in a considerate way and act honestly and fairly.

Dr Raza admitted sending the messages.

The panel found Dr Raza had threatened to reveal allegations regarding the informant's sexual orientation to family members.

They also ruled one or more of the text messages were homophobic, abusive, insulting and threatening.

Dr Raza was found to have acted in an "inappropriate" manner.

But the tribunal found his behaviour was not "unprofessional" nor "discriminatory".

Dr Raza was cleared of misconduct and is fit to continue in practice.

Mr Weller said that although the messages were inappropriate, abusive and insulting: "The committee considered that as this exchange amounted to a personal and private argument, away from the workplace, it cannot be categorised as misconduct.

"It is important that the text messages are seen in their context.

"If the matters had been said in a public context, in front of patients, colleagues or members of the public, the committee may well have taken a different view."

He said that as there was no finding of misconduct, there was no need to consider Dr Raza's fitness to practice.

Match report: Leicester Tigers 18 Gloucester 15 - Burns on fire to lead home side to win

Leicester Tigers (9) 18

Pens: Burns (six)

Gloucester (9) 15

Pens: Hook (five)

Leicester Tigers shot back up into the Aviva Premiership play-off spots after a tense 18-15 win over Gloucester.

Man-of-the-match fly-half Freddie Burns kicked all of Tigers points and his last one with 11 minutes remaining was the crucial score and broke a 15-15 tie.

Gloucester stood toe-to-toe for most of the evening as they tackled with ferocity at the gain line and matched the hosts in the set piece.

James Hook kicked all of his side's points and his 54-metre miss late on was the only mark on an otherwise impressive night.

Leicester's young guns shone for a third consecutive week as the likes of George Catchpole, Jack Roberts and Laurence Pearce all stood out.

Tigers opened the scoring on six minutes through the reliable boot of Freddie Burns before James Hook levelled the scores soon afterwards.

The two fly-halves exchanged kicks again to make it 6-6 at the end of a first quarter which was dominated by the high ball.

Burns peppered his younger brother Billy, the Gloucester full-back, but it was from a Hook up-and-under that the visitors came closest to scoring, as Billy Burns grabbed a loose ball and was dragged down five metres short of the Leicester line.

Gloucester showed attacking intent by kicking to the corner from a resulting penalty but it came to nothing and Tigers cleared their lines.

The Cherry & Whites remained on top and were stifling Tigers of any possession. They took a 26th-minute lead as the impressive Hook landed his third penalty of the night.

At that stage, it was a fully-deserved lead and it could have been extended when centre Mark Atkinson went over the line, only for his try to be wiped off when Henry Purdy's pass to him was adjudged to be forward.

Leicester managed to finally get some ball and territory in the final 10 minutes of the first half and Burns made it 9-9 on 34 minutes.

Tigers were also pressing late on and some big runs by Logo Mulipola got his side a metre from the line before the hosts knocked-on in contact to end the half.

Leicester came out with more intensity in the second half and that paid dividends as they forged ahead 15-9 on the back of two more kicks from Burns.

There was a great deal of fortune involved in both kicks though as each one hit a post on its way over the bar.

Gloucester needed to hit back an they did quickly as Hook landed his fourth penalty of the night on 50 minutes to pull the deficit back to three points at 15-12.

Tigers continued to have the better of the ball but with the visitors committing few people to the ruck and just fanning out across the pitch, Tigers struggled to find a way through.

Hook leveled the scores on 64 minutes and Leicester then brought on young centre Jack Roberts as they looked to inject some much-need variety to midfield.

Gloucester were down to 14 men when Charlie Sharples was sin-binned for a ruck offence and Burns made it 18-15 from the following penalty.

Tigers were favourites now but Gloucester attacked, only for Seb De Chaves to steal a line-out in his own 22 and Burns cleared his lines.

Roberts' scything break was a pre-cursor to a dangerous Leicester attack that almost resulted in Sam Harrison going over but Tigers kept the ball to make the game dead an they held on for a big win against a Gloucester side that had won six games on the bounce.

Tigers: Tait, Thompstone, Catchpole, Bai (Roberts, 65min), Goneva (Benjamin, 69min), Burns, Harrison; Ayerza (Rizzo, 80min), Briggs, Mulipola (Balmain, 60min), De Chaves, Kitchener, Gibson, Salvi, Crane (Pearce, 70min).

Gloucester: Sharples, Halaifonua, Atkinson, Meakes (Trinder, 59min), Purdy, Hook, Robson; Murphy (Thomas, 60min), Dawidiuk, Afoa, Savage, Palmer, Kalamafoni, Kvesic, Evans.

Nigel Pearson putting past behind him after tough week in charge of Leicester City

$

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson said he is moving on and putting the past behind him after what has been a tough week.

Pearson was subject to intense speculation last Sunday when it appeared he almost left the club and he has had to face intense media scrutiny since then.

The City boss admits the spotlight has intensified since the reports of his sacking were denied by the club on Sunday night, but he said he is now looking to the future and stressed he had a good relationship with owner and chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

"I am moving on and preparing for the next game, so whatever this week has been is no longer relevant," he said ahead of tomorrow's trip to Aston Villa in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

"It is now about getting myself and the team ready for the next game.

"(Forget about it and move on?) No, I am not suggesting that. I am suggesting that I have put it into perspective and prepare for the game.

"I mentioned on Tuesday (after the 2-1 defeat at Arsenal) that my relationship (with the chairman) is positive both in terms of professional and personal.

"What always remains the same is there has to be a level of professional relationship as well.

"I'm just focusing totally on getting the players ready for this game.

"Relationships always have to be worked on – good, bad or indifferent. What goes on behind our four walls stays there.

"I don't have a great deal of control over what goes on outside of the football club.

"I will be working very hard to be as prepared as we can be, bearing in mind what has happened in terms of speculation at both this club and theirs."

Pearson said he and his side had to be resilient in the face of scrutiny, but he does not feel that is an issue for his squad.

"I feel under more scrutiny but I'm focused on what I'm doing," he said.

"You have to be very resilient in football. You have to keep your focus on what is required.

"I will be concentrating on very much the team.

"It's not a case of sticking your head in the sand, it's about dealing with situations as they arise.

"My focus is very much on the team and making sure our performance warrants a win.

"We have mental resilience and you need to have. We have to continue to work hard and show that belief in ourselves, which has been on show so far.

"We have been resilient this season, as we were last year and the year before under different pressures. I don't see a great deal changing in that respect."

Leicester Riders Women basketball: It's four defeats in a row to Hatters

Leicester Riders Women lost out 70-66 against Sheffield Hatters in a fast-paced match in the WBBL Championship at Loughborough University.

It is the fourth time the Hatters have beaten Riders in all competitions this season, and is Sheffield's 15th consecutive win, dating back to October.

Hatters started the game with confidence, but a Georgia Jones triple sparked a 13-3 push from the hosts, in which Maaja Bratka added six more, for a 21-15 lead.

Hatters made two late scores in the first quarter, and then started the second with an 11-3 run.

Riders, who had previously lost only once at home, found their footing and hit the next six points.

The game remained close before Riders sneaked an edge heading into the half-time break, at 42-40, as American Kastine Evans scored the last four points.

Hatters clamped down defensively after the break, and that proved to be decisive. They restricted their hosts to just four points in the first eight-and-a-half minutes of the third quarter.

Riders were still in the game as Evans hit a three-pointer for a score of 52-49, and that was the story of the latter stages.

Riders tied the game at 60 with seven points in a row, including a Jones three, but they could never quite get themselves back in front.

Bratka led the way for Riders with 21 points and 16 rebounds, and Evans chipped in with 15 points, 11 rebounds and three assists.

Leicester City can make history in the FA Cup, says winger Marc Albrighton

Leicester City feel they can go all the way in the FA Cup, winger Marc Albrighton has said.

City head to Villa Park, Albrighton's old stomping ground, tomorrow to take on Aston Villa for a place in the quarter-finals.

After some of the heavyweights, such as Manchester City and Chelsea, bowed out in the last round, Albrighton feels the competition is now wide open.

City were last in the quarter-finals in 2012 when they were eventually knocked out by Chelsea, and the last time they were in a semi-final was way back in 1982, but Albrighton feels they have a great chance of making history.

"Whether it's a league game or a cup game, the first thing we look at when we get back in the dressing room is the other results," he said.

"We saw the other scores in the last round and that a few big teams had gone out.

"Now it's a competition where a number of teams are looking at it and thinking 'we can do well in this competition' and we're no exception.

"It has opened up, without doubt. Anyone can go on and win this now.

"There are a couple of big teams left in, and you're not going to get an easy game, because no matter who you play they're going to be up for it because they'll be thinking the same thing that we are.

"We've got a good chance."

Albrighton was allowed to leave Villa Park to join City in the summer by Paul Lambert, who was this week sacked as Villa boss.

But Albrighton believes that could sting a Villa side that has scored only 12 league goals all season into life as they try to impress any potential successor.

"I think their players will just be thinking that new managers are going to be watching on and they've got to perform if they've got any chance of staying in the team when the new manager comes in, so it's going to be a difficult test because they are going to be up for it, and the fans too," said Albrighton.

"It's going to be a good atmosphere and a good occasion."

Premier League survival is certainly the priority for City as they sit bottom of the table, but Albrighton believes success in the cup can help their cause.

"I think it's another game that you look to go and win," he said.

"If you can get that winning mentality, no matter what competition it's in, it's always good to win a football match.

"If we're failing to do that in the league, then the cup is something we can use to bounce back.

"If we can get a win this weekend then it'll give us confidence, it won't damage anything in the camp, so it's always a positive to get a win no matter what the competition."

Leicester City can make history in the FA Cup, says winger Marc Albrighton
